Who We Are

All are welcome to join us!
We believe the mission statement of the Upland Baptist Church reflects who we are. Our mission is to…

Provide Hope to our Community by Sharing the Love of Jesus.

To reflect God’s image to our community, we are striving to be intentional in how we live out our faith through worshipping, learning, and serving. Our values reflect how we live out our faith. We are …

•Compassionate – We have an awareness of the suffering of others and try to do something about it. We provide sustenance to those in need, build relationships together to make a difference, and offer a variety of opportunities to serve others. Matthew 25:31-46

•Accepting – We see people as God sees them and celebrate the diversity of everyone. Our congregation welcomes all into the house of God, believes all people are made in the image of God, and celebrate the diversity of all. Luke 10:25-37

•Reverent – We have a commitment to growing our faith. Our Church strives to help our members develop a deep relationship with our Savior through a commitment to God’s Word, create a worship environment that is accessible to all, and try to live out our faith in our everyday lives. Mark 12:28-32

•Evolving – We are striving to be the Church God wants us to be while acknowledging and adapting our long-held traditions. We are continually trying to transform our traditions into new opportunities, engage our changing community with the unwavering love of Jesus, and acknowledge and obey the call God has for our Church. Acts 9:1-19

In the midst of everything, it is essential to always remember to
Love God! Love Others!

Mark 12:29-31 (NRSV) 29 Jesus answered, “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; 30 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
